An innovative alternative to classic HVOF and detonation processes.

  • HF Detonation: controlled detonations from 1 up to 100 Hz, with robust, easy-to-maintain and reliable torches.
  • HVOAF: supersonic flame conditions in a wide temperature range, resulting in high process flexibility, covering the entire range from classic materials to temperature-sensitive materials.

High-frequency detonation process with precise control of explosions:

  • Explosions achieved through aerodynamic valves enabling working frequencies of up to 100 Hz → Huge advantage against standard detonation torches working with frequencies up to 10 Hz.
  • Fuel: natural gas → Safe and clean gas, available as pressure-gas.
  • Reduced gas consumption, resulting in extremely low heat load on the coated part.
  • Net power from 75 to 150 kW.
  • Flexible process, allowing the processing of a wide range of materials: metal alloys, cermets, and ceramics.

High Velocity Oxy/Air Fuel
HVOAF

New generation high-speed system that combines oxygen-air-fuel for greater flexibility and process efficiency: 

  • Wide range of flame temperatures thanks to the use of Natural Gas + Air / O2 mixtures.
  • Fuel: natural gas.
  • Compressed air: Increased flow ratios to maintain supersonic speed and pressure.
  • Dense/compact, high strength bonded and cold worked metallic coatings: Cu-, Fe-, Ni-/ Co-base (Tribaloy™, Inconel, Stellite™,..).
  • Cold worked and ultra-hard cermets : WC-Co(Cr), WC-Ni(Cr), Cr3C2-NiCr).
  • Suited for fine and ultra-fine (-15 μm) cermets and oxidation prone metals (Al, Ti, Cu and their alloys).

An advanced and cost-effective alternative for classic HVOF and detonation systems

Konbus+ combines HF Detonation and HVOAF, two complementary thermal spraying platforms for disruptive solutions in the field of thermal spraying, offering unprecedented coating qualities in high added-value products and positioning our customers at the forefront of the sector. HF Detonation provides greater robustness and less thermal impact on the coated part, reducing process times and production costs. HVOAF allows working with supersonic conditions in a wide range of flame temperatures, thus making possible the processing of all classical HVOF/HVAF feedstocks until oxidation-sensitive metals such as titanium or aluminium.
